Latest Update – Foregen’s Scientific Progress

Firstly, we would like to thank all the kind and generous people who donated during our very successful fundraising campaign in the run up to July.  We would also like to acknowledge everyone who continues to support us in these challenging and uncertain economic times.  Your support is invaluable to us and really does make a positive difference!

We are pleased to announce that since the fundraiser earlier this year, much progress has been made behind the scenes.  We have acquired access to a suitable laboratory with all the facilities we will need to conduct our work.  We have also managed to obtain cooperation and expertise from some of the most talented and forward thinking doctors in the field of regenerative medicine, who understand and respect the unique and very specific goals we have for this project.  The second step in this groundbreaking project was to prepare a scientific protocol, which would serve as a blueprint for the experiments that our scientific staff would follow.  With the support and expertise of leading biochemistry scientists in both the United States and Italy, this was completed, and experimentation commenced on September 23, 2012.

The experimentation is part of a strategy that will bring foregen to a clinical trial.  Our scientists have chosen to work with various promising technologies that are recognized by the regenerative medicine community at large; among them are ways of working with stem cells and the extracellular matrix.   After considering the best way to establish scientific credibility and viability for our project, our scientists have decided that it is necessary to take an intermediate step with animal tissue to preserve the safety of future human participants.  This is what we are pursuing now.

The first experiment has huge importance for all people concerned with human dignity and bodily integrity, because for the first time in history, a committed and passionate organization has decided to solve a senseless problem facing millions of men in the world.  We intend to regenerate the foreskin as nature created it.  The technology is available, but to achieve our goals more quickly we will need even more supporters.  So far, each donor has given his money for a cause in which he believes and for the chance at becoming whole.  We have raised awareness, but nevertheless the pace of fundraising has been too slow.

In order to increase our reach to other potential supporters in the world, foregen will continue to exist as a  non-profit organization, but next year external investors will establish a for-profit enterprise which will support the immense work of foregen.  In this new company, supporters will contribute to something they are passionate about; but unlike the non-profit, this time their money will buy shares of the new company.  This level of  personal investment should raise money much faster.  Although both organizations will share the same overall vision, the for-profit will be managed independently to facilitate investment, while the non-profit will continue to raise funds in accordance with our charter.  To be able to achieve its goals Foregen needs very special investors, people who want to invest their money to resolve their personal problem and the problem of countless circumcised men in the world.  In this way each  investor will take his own responsibility to fund this marvelous project which intends to regenerate man to his original integrated state.

The first phase of the experiment is progressing as planned, and we will continue to provide more details as promised.  Once the experiment on animal tissues has been concluded, fundraising for the first human application trials will then commence.  The scientists involved in this project work with us on a confidential basis, and we hope you can understand that this unconventional and pioneering work is best carried out without them having to deal with a constant stream of inquiries, speculation from the press, and interference from pro-circumcision activists.

In the meantime we would like to thank everyone for their continued support, interest, and kind generosity.  Your support really does matter to us.  2012 has been an exciting year for foregen, but in many ways it is only the beginning.  Please look forward to 2013 and the many exciting developments we are planning to share with you!

  1. It's my foreskin and I want it now! says:

Best christmas present I’ve ever gotten.

  2. Dylan says:

Wonderful. Absolutely wonderful. I am so grateful that an organization such as this exists. You give me so much hope.

  3. Stephon says:

You are doing great. Seriously. You inspire me.

I love the idea of making this a for-profit as well. This is definitely going to make a big difference in the funding — it’s great to hear your team is always thinking of new ideas!

Can’t wait to hear more good news!

  4. Michael says:

How will one go about purchasing shares in this for-profit endeavor? Personally I think this is a, if you will pardon the pun, capital idea for fundraising especially considering that if successful it can blueprint the way to regenerating other amputated body parts.

  5. Joe McMaster says:

This lifts my spirits in ways most cannot understand.

PLEASE continue to make progress so that I may one day be whole again. I’m almost 20 and if I had the money I would most definitely send it to this wonderful, inspiring, and hope-bringing organization. Please consider me as a test subject!

    - Joe

  6. Thank you so much for all you do. Even if your amazing research never bears fruit for me personally, I am elated that Foregen is pressing forward to help those like me who were circumcised without consent, and want nothing more than to feel whole again. Your efforts mean the world to me, and to others like me. Thank you.

  7. Evan says:

    WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Go FOREGEN!!!!!!!! :D :D :D

  8. JM says:

I was expecting a little more information, but we did get an update finally none the less!

  9. Enzo says:

I understand some of you guys but at this time we can not give the name of the scientists and the location of the experiments.

    • Patrick says:

Are you able to be more specific about the nature of the experiments? Many of us are also curious about exactly what the researchers are doing.

  10. Daniel Wojcik says:

This made me so much happier! Thank you for the update, it’s really, really nice to hear about the progress~

  11. atfman says:

The photo shows the evolution of research foregen

    • Enzo says:

not really ,the picture is not a foreskin. It is a Trachea made from the italian doctor Paolo Macchiarini.I wanted to show this picture because it is so similar to the work we intend to do

    • Sol says:

An image search verifies that the image is, in fact, a picture of a trachea grown within a bioreactor from a patient’s cells. While this is not the work of foregen, this form of bioreactor is designed to specifically grow any tubular organ: tracheae, blood vessels, and perhaps even foreskin, as foregen seems to imply by including this image. I am disappointed because I led myself to believe that this may actually be an image of a regenerated foreskin, but alas. I would certainly like to know details of foregen’s progress, but this update is still comforting, to say the least.

  12. d says:

wow they already have access to a laboratory! that was surprisingly fast

  13. Kota says:

The right knowledge has not spread in Japan. It is behind.
    Reliance is used.
Thank you for the highest Christmas present.
    It is aiding.

  14. JT says:

Thanks so much for the update Enzo.

The hope this gives me is the best Christmas gift any human could give me and I am more thankful for Foregen’s work than I can express.

I’m very keen to learn how to invest in the for-profit entity you’re organizing and think it’s a terrific idea!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all!

    • Enzo says:

JT,you were so worried waiting for this update…….and it has finally arrived!Thank you for your economic support this is what we need if we really want to change things .By the way , Merry Christmas to all of you guys , foregen’s friends!

  15. Enzo
Thank you so much for all of the hard work and dedication you’ve put into such a hopeful practice! You give me such inspiration to look forward to one day reversing the genital mutilation that I and countless men have have wrongly suffered. I pray fervently one day I will have the intact gentalia that God originally designed, and will experience my wife with my entire penis, intact. Thank you sooooo much keep up the hard work! Also food for thought; I hope to serve a plate with desert to take, let’s target some pro-intact celebrities in hopes of endorsement and fully raise awareness ie Mario Lopez, Robert Pattison, Daniel Craig, Jude Law, Daniel Radcliffe, etc!! Thanks again.

    • Stephon says:

I hear you bro! Let us please our wives the way God intended, live our lives without sense of loss, and celebrate in being whole. Have faith while you wait.

  16. GoForegen! says:

I am so glad to hear this, and there is no better time then to announce this now, right before Christmas!

I really, really hope you guys succeed in this experiment, it will make so many people happy if it works, including me. No matter the cost of this, i will be sure to “buy” my bodily integrity back.

Anyways, good luck in the next phases of your work!! Keep up the dedication!

  17. Park says:

Do you intend to attach a foreskin to circumcised penis?

  18. Clayton says:

Thank you Foregen for doing what you do for all of us! I check your site nearly every day. Thanks for the update, I’am grateful for you guys. I was cut as an adult after a hospital stay. I feel like my life was ruined. Please consider me for a restoration. I want to proceed with my life now. Merry Christmas to all of you at Foregen!!

  19. Incognito says:

This is excellent news! And, the idea of creating a For-Profit while maintaining a Non-Profit organization is also a great idea! The future is looking very promising, and 2013 is sure to be filled with pleasant surprises.

    Thank You Everyone!

  20. Will says:

Wow guys, I honestly felt like you were just sitting around and it turns out you did the exact opposite, thank you for your rapid progress

  21. Intact like nature intended says:

it is great to see things moving forward !!

the next steps will not be easy, but with the support of us all we can hellp you to solve it

  22. John says:

Do you guys at Foregen have any rough ideas as to how long this research will take to be available for us common people that will not be able to participate in the trial? It will most likely take longer to become available here in the US. Are we talking 10 years or 30 years? Also does anyone here know if guys that have restored will be more complicated?

  23. Raffi says:

Wow. Fantastic news! Great start for this year! Many thanks and love!

I have done a calculation. If there was 1000 supporters and they paid $50 recurring payment for each month of the donated date (50 x 12 = 600 for yearly. 600 x 1000 = 600,000) then in one year alone plus investors would equal at least well over $600,000 in one year.

Will donate more. For all who want more info, look at why to become a supporter.

    It’s worth it :-)

  24. Tae says:

This is all very good news and everything, but I’ve got a question. Will Foregen be able to restore more than just the parts of the penile skin “normally” lost during circumcisions, so that those of us suffering from botched operations will be able to restore other parts like the shaft skin? I was circumcised during a check-up for no good reason at all and am suffering from a hairy shaft as well as scrotal skin covering the underside of my penis and would settle for no less than having my entire penile skin back to its natural shape. It’s a great way to start off the new year, but those of us suffering from more than the typical skin should be allowed a chance, too.

  25. 杜旭宝 says:

First of all I want to say thank you very much. I want to know how to get in touch with you, because I am in china. In China, people don’t go to Facebook and twitter. And circumcision is also the doctors continue to carry forward the lie.The Chinese doctor has no moral. Put the money in the first place.
My name is Du Xubao,FROM China.
I want to join in you.Millions of people need to the prepuceIn China This figure is a geometric multiples.
    THANK YOU VERY MUCH.

  26. Jim says:

I too am happy that there is some organisation
    out there taking steps.

    I would like to echo John’s (December 30, 2012 at 10:28 pm)
questions. They are the same that many of us have.

Also, if it would be the sort of treatment that people
    with low incomes could afford?

Anyway, we are all longing and hoping…

    Wishing you great success!

  27. Josh says:

I’m not sure I understand what you mean by a for-profit or how investments will help. Could someone please explain that part?
Anyways, I’m absolutely thrilled to hear about this! Keep up the good work! :D

  28. Angel says:

Can you clarify how much money you need to raise and how a for-profit entity will assist with that? Is it that the for-profit entity will own the rights to any techology or process that arises out of this research, whereas the non-profit will not?

  29. Du Xubao says:

There is no PAYPAL in CHINA,my god. what can I do?

    • Foregen says:

Du Xubao, we tried to respond to your emails, but your email address was coming through as a bunch of numbers and the email would not go through. Maybe it has something to do with a Chinese email address. Is it possible for you to create a different email, maybe that will work.

    • Agle says:

You can use Tor, but I don’t know if the Chinese Government ban those websites.

      Try using hidemyass.com etc

  30. Blake says:

I love you guys. Thank you.

  31. Jim says:

Couldnt help myself – had to tell
you again just how happy I am
    that you are doing this.

    You deserve a Nobel Prize
for what you will do for the
    well-being of hundreds of men.

    We love you.

  32. EK says:

Thank you so much for your work! I’m sure you can already tell, but countless men are thankful for the work you are doing and are anxious to heal from mutilation without consent. I live next to a university and plan on posting flyers within the next week or so. Expect more visitors and more support from the United States Midwest soon! More and more eyes will be anxiously watching and more and more men will be trying to contain excitement soon.

By the way, for Tae and Clayton and others, share more of your story. I’m interested (and horrified) and I am sure that others here are too.

    • ExtraCellularMatrix says:

What state do you live in? I live in a Midwestern state near the biggest Univerisity in the area so I wanted to see if we match up. If you don’t feel like disclosing this public me, look for me on Facebook and shoot me a message, my name is Ezra Cellularmatrix.

I’m also a supporter so you can always find me on here as well.

  33. EK says:

I’m sorry to post twice in one day and I realize this is the wrong place to comment, but does anyone know or remember where the Foregen flyers are? I seem to remember that somewhere on this website, there were some premade flyers. If they are in existence, I’d love to have them and I’d love to suggest making them easy to find on the site. Thank you!

  34. Clayton says:

Alright EK, I’ll share more for the benefit of education. I was in the hospital for a few weeks with a collapsed lung. Some irritation developed in the overhang part of the foreskin, probably from the catheter. During a follow up a MD suggest a biopsy on the lumps. I did not want a circumcision. I asked a few Dr’s and found one who agreed to remove only the troubled tissue while keeping the glands fully covered at all times. I was so concerned about the surgery that I put my directions in writing. Unfortunately for me the Dr. was a lying rapist. Not only every cell of the inner tissue was removed, but like Tae’s surgery, the underside scrotum skin stretched all the way to the glands. I did have surgery to try reshaping that area. It was so tight that sex with my girl friend was very uncomfortable for both of us. She finally left me because of all the dysfunction and my emotional breakdown. I couple of years later I finally found an attorney that was willing to help me. I had a solid case because of the letter I wrote to the Dr. prior to surgery. Regretfully I found him too late as the statute of limitations ran out. Because of this living hell I had had a wide range of issues. Anger, road rage, drug problems, self mutilation, anti social behaviors, anxiety, I isolate way too much and lost most of my friends. I’m off drugs and alcohol now luckily, and my road rage is better now, but I still have serious trust issues. I hope people and Dr’s can learn from my humiliating ordeal. I do want to thank Foregen for what they are doing.

  35. Tae says:

My experience with with circumcision is largely the same as Clayton’s. In October I was diagnosed with a mild case of phimosis that, as most people here probably already know, can easily be cured by a multitude of other ways besides driving a scalpel to your penis. What made this operation even more of a disaster is that the doctor did not agree to meet me prior to the surgery and stood me up for 2 hours on the day the surgery was scheduled, citing her tight schedule as too demanding. Unfortunately, that led to a multitude of problems coming my way that have made my life a tightly circumcised living hell right now- I have a rare type of penis that is only about 3 or 4 inches when flaccid, but grows to about 7 inches when erect, a factor that she not only never took account for due to her negligence but instead somehow saw as a reason to remove virtually all parts of the penis that are normally hairless. As a consequence I do not appear to be in any immediate shape for having even protected sex, and my remaining mucosa and shaft skin have been left very little. Erections tend to be very uncomfortable and the few times I masturbated, it either caused pain or more damage to the glans and frenulum, even bleeding. Foregen is my only hope for regaining my sexual function and like Clayton, I can only hope more doctors and potential victims of this vile and inhumane act can learn from our unfortunate situations.

Again I do want to thank you guys for what you hope to accomplish and have already, keep up the good work!

    • Charlie Weder says:

You should look into legal action against this doctor. Doing so can stop her from doing this to other men; I’m sure you are not the first if this is how she practices. You may also be able to get damages to pay for your eventual reconstruction. this is exactly the reason we have tort law, so dont hesitate to contact http://www.arclaw.org

      • Tae says:

Thank you for your concern. I have already tried looking into legal action by consulting several doctors, but at the moment I reside in South Korea, an underdeveloped and frankly messed up country that has a laughably low awareness for the disastrous downsides (and hazardous risks!) of circumcision. In the past 3-4 months since my botched operation I’ve visited quite a few university hospitals, even general ones, seeking appropriate diagnosis for my condition- but unfortunately the majority of said doctors were corrupt jackasses who, upon hearing that I was operated in Korea University, either refused to do a damn thing about the situation or made unreasonable demands such as presenting a picture of my penis from before the surgery to “corroborate my claims.”

Because doctors are generally very underpaid in this country and generally think of their benefits over the safety of their patients the majority of visits have been for naught, with the few that acknowledge this as a problem refusing to help with my case. And without a proper diagnosis it seems fairly impossible to present a viable argument to incriminate my vile, stubborn excuse for a doctor. I am willing to look into any help I can get, but as things stand here the odds don’t look very good.

  36. manuel says:

In my opinion, the fund raised are not very impressive.
How many men are circumcised in the US and Middle East ? Hundreds of millions.
How many regret what they’ve underwent ? And how many are wealthy ?
At least hundreds of thousands for whom a donation of let’s say 10o dollars is nothing at all.
We must reach them out, it would be far more effective than for us saving 10 dollars per month.

  37. EK says:

I found the flyers. They were shared on January 11th, 2011 on the Facebook page and were shared earlier too. You can also find it here: http://www.scribd.com/doc/47381695/Foregen-Flyer-2-white-background. C’mon everyone, we need to get these up quickly. We need to raise awareness. Prevention is better than a cure. We need Foregen to help the victims, but we need YOU to stop others from becoming victims. Right now, somewhere in the world, there is an innocent infant being placed on a table and having no idea what is coming next… Print a flyer today. There is some chance maybe it could spare at least one person the suffering?

Ezra Cellularmatrix or ExtraCellular Matrix. Do you have an email address you can share publicly? I haven’t logged into Facebook for years.

  38. Tae says:

That’s the thing, though- while intactivism is certainly a great and noble cause, and one that many of us wish had been big enough to denounce circumcision in the both the west and east, for the majority of us donating to Foregen it’s too late to avoid getting circumcised. As such it’s far from the goal that it strives to achieve. Foregen has made it clear that its objective of restoring men to their intact selves and preservation of it are two different things.

Prevention would have been better than getting a cure years after the damage was already done, yes, but what’s done is done- what we’re seeking is a way back.

  39. josh says:

ok all i want to know is when can i buy this???/ i will be a guinee pig i dont care i wna speed my restoration process up and ive had my frendulum cut i dont think i can get that back when is this going to be able to buy???? emails sarahsman1989@Yahoo.com

  40. Cassidy says:

The fact that it may be possible to regenerate a real foreskin is what stops me from “restoring” through tugging. This means so much to me. Thank you guys for caring and DOING something about it.

  41. Joe says:

Thx so much guys for the help, just as a suggestion (i dont know if this is already planned or not) but it would be great if you guys could figure out how to make an entire foreskin, and not just the skin part…

  42. Joe says:

What will the for-profit company be called?

  43. Joe says:

just did a quick google, and somewhere between 50-75% of men in the U.S. are (supposedly) circumcised. You guys need to advertise on tv and on those posters by the highway, and you will get so many more supporters. I barely found out about you guys, please advertise better.

    We need your help!

  44. Jimmy says:

Im not pretending to know how to run your website better than you, but I believe the more posts you make on your website, the more people will come back to your website, and the more often they will donate. Please dont take this the wrong way, but I think that you guys need to post more often, even if you dont have much to say, just to get more people to come back to your website and donate more. You guys might want to think about having a weekly post if even only on twitter, just to say that everything is going good, on or behind schedule, and that soon “with your help, we shall find a cure”, to sublimely remind people to donate and help the cause.

  45. John says:

Please hurry Foregen, I dont want to be a casualty of yesterday’s war!

  46. Alex says:

As far as getting the word out, it’s not just up to Foregen. Everyone else can always put up signs of all kinds in their cities and lots of other options like later this week I’m calling a medical radio show to try to discuss Foregen.

  47. Lohn says:

To whoever (or whoever pl) donated the $233 since yesterday, thank you.

  48. johnny says:

Whatever that pink thing in the picture is I want it on me

Please hurry foregen, and make that fore (get the pun?) profit company already!

Millions of men will probably pay $40,000 for a foreskin, so think of the money your for-profit company could make!

  49. Johnny says:

GUYS I THINK FOREGEN NEEDS MORE PUBLICITY!! I KNOW THIS MAY BE AQUWARD BUT YOU GUYS HAVE TO TELL YOUR FRIENDS ABOUT THIS WEBSITE!!!!

  50. Anon says:

Foregen should start doing monthly updates. Even if there isn’t any major news, they could still let us know how their progress is going.

  51. . says:

My brothers, now is the time for us to focus on donating, instead of feeling upset about the past. Foregen is only $444 from raising $50,000! The question is…who else is with my on donating?

  52. Johnny says:

    yah lets gets to $50,000!

  53. Johnny says:

I personally cant believe that were not even to 50k yet even though foregen been going since 2009, I personally value all of us having a complete body at way over 50k

  54. Johnny says:

glad to see that someone here besides me is here though, thx for providing hope and company, it feels great that im not the only one.

  55. Scott says:

When will Foregen decide to go to a for profit business model? Because at the rate of the donations, this could be years before all the money is raised for its clinical trial.

    Thanks.

    • Enzo says:

Foregen won’t go to a for profit business model.Foregen is and will remain a non-profit , a for-prpfit enterprise will be estabilished from external investors .This for-profit will be managed independently to facilitate investment, while the non-profit will continue to raise funds in accordance with our charter.

  56. Zane says:

Enzo,If in the future foreskin regeneration is a success on a human applicant, What is to say that the people that donated towards this cause will be able to afford this medical procedure? Imagine how devastated a lot of people would be if this happened.

    • Enzo says:

Honestly, i have not understood this question

      • Sesshy says:

He’s saying, what if a donor is unable to afford the final treatment? A lot of us donors are barely able to afford to support ourselves, and a stem cell treatment will probably be very expensive.

  57. . says:

Enzo, when can we expect the next update?

  58. Jimmy James says:

This is all SO EXCITING!!!! I have begun talking with my trusted friends about Foregen and my anger about being circumcised. So many American men and women jump to the idea that it’s “more hygienic” to be circumcised. Despite that, I think there’s a vast commercial potential for the technology that Foregen hopes to develop. I wonder how many people will “wake up” to the fact that they’ve been mutilated when they hear from people who have had their circumcisions reversed. I wonder how many men who were circumcised as adults will give more honest impressions of their results once they find that they are no longer stuck with their decision. Further, regenerating foreskin might be relatively easy compared to other body parts (both because there has been some level of success with skin already, and the foreskin amputation occurs in a relatively uniform way), so the new for-profit company might develop technologies and knowledge that can be applied in many other ways.

    I WILL be an investor!!

  59. JP says:

Share the word. Be active. Talk to your friends, talk to the doctors. Talk to the mothers, fathers, sisters and brothers. Let Foregen gain publicity and let people see the circumcision harm. Foregen needs money and we need so much more donators.

  60. Zane says:

Sorry i made a mess of the last comment. What i meant was, what is to say people could afford the procedure one day if it is possible. Understand?

    • mpv says:

Zane, both of your comments are a bit weird grammatically. But I assume you’d like to know: Will those people who donate to Foregen now be able to afford the actual surgery later on? It would be tragic if people who supported the project in an early stage would not be able to pay for the actual surgery when/if it is available.

      Is that your point?

If so, I’d like to boil it down to two questions:

      1. Enzo, can you give at least a rough estimate of how much a foreskin-regeneration surgery might cost in the end? I understand that you cannot give any exact number right now. But even a very rough guess would be really helpful. Even a mere number of digits of what cost to expect might prevent many a false expectation and unnecessary fear.

      2. If this project succeeds, might there be any way to offer special prices to those people who supported the project early on, but who can’t afford the cost of the surgery in the end?

I see that such special prices would have to paid for somehow — Prehaps by asking higher prices from those people who can afford to pay them, and using the profit made to support the poor? Or perhaps, you could run some kind of charity later on which supports these people? I think this is an issue worth addressing at least.

Zane, I think those are the questions bothering you. Hopefully, I understood you correctly :-)

  61. DreamMagii says:

Could i get more information on the company that will be for-profit? Is it created yet? Do they know the name? Is it share-listed on the market as yet?

  62. Tom says:

Hey everyone, here’s a facebook group I just made to encourage people to stop circumcision and encourage regenerative medicine. I also included Foregen in it to help get their name out there. Like the page and invite your friends!

    https://www.facebook.com/stopcircumcision

  63. Zane says:

Mpv yes that’s exactly what i meant, thanks for the help.(my grammar is terrible haha)

  64. W H says:

    Hello.

I am currently in the process of manually restoring my foreskin. I was curious if I would still be able to get the procedure done in the future, if I have restored my foreskin through tugging. Is it possible to still have the regeneration done? Should I stop restoring?

  65. INeedAForeskinRegen says:

    Hey all,

I’m wondering how Foregen is doing, and if there’s any new news. The “splash screen” (is that the correct term?) of the website says that some kind of animal tissue research (whatever that means, exactly) is now going on, but there doesn’t seem to be any further information on it in the news or blog sections, so… I don’t know. Does anybody know anything else about what’s going on with this?

    • Joey says:

I don’t know if it’s true or not but I heard from others that there is an update coming up at the end of this month. I’m curious as to what is going on as of right now as well. Monthly
updates really would be nice. Also, it always seems like the donations increase rapidly
      immediately following an update.

      • INeedAForeskinRegen says:

Yeah, very true Joey. I agree with you, monthly
updates would be the best way to go for Foregen. I think you’re exactly right — more updates = more donations. It’s a no-brainer!

    • . says:

I agree! Can we please be told when the next update will be, Enzo? Many of us are eagerly awaiting an update on Foregen’s progress. Plus, after every update, Foregen usually receives more donations!

  66. Adam says:

I asked this yesterday but my comment never showed up…

I was wondering about foregen and if it would work on men who have restored their foreskin using manual tugging methods. I am currently restoring, but am definitely interested in Foregen in the future. I don’t want to ruin my chances, is it recommended to continue restoring or should I stop? Is there any information on this?

  67. Johhny says:

Also, I too would agree that more updates would mean more money raised.

  68. Johhny says:

I was just wondering have any of you ever felt any stigma for being circumcised in the U.S., were any girls like eww get that ruined organ away from me i dont want it?

Please answer, I have some anziaty over this…

    Please hurry Foregen

    • Gregor says:

I think that a negative response to mutilated genitals in a mutilating culture is uncommon, yet I have seen something like it. What bothers me in the USA is thinking that there are women who would prefer that I be hurt. I could not be close to such a woman.

      • Philo says:

None of my partners has complained, and the only action I get is overseas. Totally agree that I wouldn’t want to be with a sadistic B!+(# who wants me cut. In fact I wish my partners would be grossed out by my disfigured dick… then I would know that they care.

        • Alex says:

That’s completely ridiculous, you should want a woman who loves you as you are and is not grossed out by you. Most girls I’ve met think that uncircumcised penises are gross, it doesn’t mean that they prefer men to be hurt it’s just an aesthetic choice based on culture. Also I don’t get you guys who whine about being ruined and not being whole, I’m not whole every time I bite off a fingernail. My dick still gives me plenty of pleasure, it’s just not as sensitive as it used to be and I would like that sensitivity back. That’s it. No reason to blow it up into something that somehow makes you less of a man or feel constantly psychologically incomplete. That’s dumb self-hindering thinking

          • eshu21 says:

Many men feel incomplete due to circumcision because they recognize that the loss of over 20,000 pleasure-sensitive nerve endings in the penis is a significant problem; biting a fingernail cannot compare because nails are dead tissue that grow back on their own, and men are far more likely to identify their masculinity with their genitalia than their fingernails. Dissing men’s negative reaction to their circumcision seems to be an attempt at emotional self-protection, or perhaps an unconcious desire to appease those who would dismiss our claims by making male genital mutilation appear “no big deal”, a counter-productive strategy at best.

  69. wayne says:

Enzo, have you considered getting funds from http://www.Kickstarter.com?

  70. Johnster says:

Hey Foregen, you guys really need another post.

  71. Gregor says:

The welfare of any animals involved is important to me. I asked Vincenzo for details. I want to be whole, but not if it means needlessly torturing animals. There is enough suffering in the world without my adding to it.

    • Philo says:

Needless torturing is what is happening to babies. I hope any animals are looked after well, but in the end our needs come first.

  72. Jordan says:

I hope some of you guys will know what I’m talking about when I say that one of the reasons I want to get uncircumcised is because of constant penile irritation. I just read about some product called “Man1 Man Oil”. Has anyone else heard of it? It appearently relieves redness and irritation and restores broken skin. Has anyone ever used it or even heard of it before?

  73. Philip says:

It would be greatly helpful if we could at least receive a mini-update as a comment from anyone working at Forgen. In any case, thank you Foregen for all the work, effort and support given so far and I hope that the project continues well.

  74. Anon says:

Are we getting an update soon? I noticed on the home page that it says something about animal tissue, but there’s no update about it.

Also, I asked this previously, but it never showed up – what is the (probable) price range of Foregen? I understand I can’t get an exact number, but I, and many others, would really appreciate it if we got an estimate price range.

  75. Guest1977 says:

Would it be too much to ask for a conservative estimate as to when this could be available to males if the clinical trial is successful? Are we talking sooner rather than later like within a few years or possibly 10 years or more?

    Thanks.

  76. . says:

When is the next update coming?

  77. Greek says:

I want my foreskin back now this is taking to long. I can less Sexual pleasure. I just want my foreskin back.

  78. Greek says:

I don’t care about sexual pleasure. I need my foreskin.

  79. Anon says:

I keep checking for an update only to find nothing. If the animal testing has begun, there should definitely be an update.

I wish Foregen would stop leaving us in the dark.

  80. Ray says:

There’s a recent example of the amazing advances in the field of regenerative medicine. If researchers can regrow a nose, there are more reasons to think that they could regrow a foreskin:

    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/science/science-news/9820897/Man-grows-new-nose-in-his-arm.html

  81. INeedAForeskinRegen says:

I DO absolutely care a LOT about sexual pleasure, which is WHY I need my foreskin! I’m sure that the Foregen staff sees how much we are clamoring for a response — an update of some kind, any kind!

    • Alex says:

Update or not, they’re working. We know this now, so relax. an update won’t make results come faster and you shouldn’t rely on an update to quell your negative feelings because then you just get frustrated waiting for one and it ends up hurting you.

      • INeedAForeskinRegen says:

Well regardless of whether or not I SHOULD rely on an update to quell my negative feelings, I in fact DO. So I really wish they would post one… just anything, something little. I know donations always increase around the time of even very minor updates. You say we know that they’re working — but how? How do we exactly know that, Alex?

        • Biggey says:

Because I’m guessing he is a “Supporter” as am I. Supporters get access to the Supporters forum in which the leaders of Foregen discuss things that are happening behind the scenes that we cannot release due to privacy issues and sensitivity of information while work is still being done. If you would like to find out more information, by all means, please sign up to become a Supporter!

  82. JCBJC says:

It should be noted that foreskin-specific adnexa regeneration is a major challenge, as the lack of sebacious glands would leave the skin dry and require constant moisturizing.

So if you can’t regenerate the sebaceous glands, it will be very far away from true regeneration. Will it even restore the nerves? Or muscles?

Unless that is the focus of the research, it will only be for appearance, not function.

  83. Tal says:

    Incredible news!! Awesomely amazing!!!
Thank you foregen for all your hard work and efforts. I can become depressed at times just thinking about what I’ve lost and why I lost it. But coming to your website and reading such inspirational news helps a lot.

Thank you so much! Because of you, men will one day have their “natural at birth” foreskin which was once thought to be gone forever.

Thanks can not adequately express my sincere and enormous gratitude to your organization.

    • Joe says:

if you truly feel this way please donate to help the cause

      • Tal says:

I have donated. And once I find another job, I will start donating again on a regular basis. I will continue to donate until the procedure has been tested successfully and readily available for those that want it done.

  84. lolo says:

    Update please!

  85. lolo says:

even an “Update Soon” update would be great

    thx foregen

  86. Johnny says:

Please hurry with the fore profit company, as i believe that it will greatly speed the research for foreskin regeneration

  87. b says:

I’ve donated and hope for the best. I keep checking this page every so often, and like everyone else I would appreciate more updates. All I know is, the fact that I’m circumcised bothers me more than anything else in my life. If this happens in the next couple of years it will probably change my life forever.

    • Tal says:

I understand your feelings. Being circ’ed bothers me more than anything else. Knowing that a healthy part of my flesh was cut away from me for no good reason (other than religious, and traditional reasons) drives me nuts at times.

But, think of it this way; The debate regarding neonatal circ and sensitivity/sexual satisfaction has been ongoing for a long time. No study has ever been done comparing neonatal circ adult sensitivity to that of the uncut adult. Though the ones (people/orginizations) that support neonatal circ use the studies of consenting adult males that choose to undergo circ, as the basis for their argument of how circ does not decrease sensitivity. This is true to an extent. But is also misleading. The true part of this is that many males report no change in sensitivity/sensations post-circ, but what has never been studied is the fact that these men have had their foreskin for years providing the emolliating function that the glans are suppose to recieve. The studies did not take this into account because the studies were not to compare sensitivity/sensations of the adult circ’ed male vs that of a neonatal circ adult. However, two studies of 2 dif types of tactile sensations were done and concluded that the vibrotactile perception and fine-touch pressure thresholds are lower in uncut males than in circ males. Lower threshold means higher sensitivity.

Sorry for the long post, but wanted to set a premis.
Once the foregen procedure is ready (hopefully within a few years), there will be many neonatal cric’ed adult males that will know first hand what the dif is in sensitivity, sensation and satisfaction between being circ’ed at birth and having a foreskin. When that day comes, it will be our voices that help put a stop to neonatal circ since it will only be us that knows the dif. Once this info becomes known by the masses, more and more males will be undergoing the procedure to reverse their circ. And this is when I think the circ rates will drop dramatically. When we have people who literally know what the dif between having and not having a foreskin is, thats when the pro-circ people and orginizations will be shot down in an increasing amount. And it will be people like you who will be the new voice on anti-circ.

Sorry for the long post, but I hope it helps to give you hope and encouragement.

      • JJim says:

Good post. I might add to your solid points that any man who ELECTS to undergo a circumcision as an adult must either have a completely subjective or more-objective problem with his foreskin. Subjectively, a man who chooses an adult circumcision perhaps dislikes being “different” in the US, simply has an aesthetic preference (although I’d say such preferences are almost always culturally-determined), dislikes having to practice good hygiene, or maybe even has a partner who dislikes his foreskin. Or, perhaps, a man who chooses to be circumcised as an adult has a genuine medical need for the procedure such as phimosis or susceptibility to frenulum or foreskin tears. The two categories might even coincide for a man who, say, produces excessive smegma and odor.

My point being. If someone got circumcised as an adult, there is definitely a reason. Either subjectively, or objectively, most of them will prefer being circumcised because their foreskin experience was, in some way, not like that of most happy, healthy, uncircumcised males.

        • Foregen says:

You make some valid points. But a very significant percentage of the men who contact us are men who were circumcised as adults. It’s probably becasue they are more aware of what they are missing than people circumcised as infants.

          • b says:

Once Foregen Succeeds(and it better), I guarantee there will be huge changes in the way people view circumcision. Once men who lived their life thinking what they had was all it could be are whole again there will be an outcry. There are few men who are uncut, and decide to cut. There are currently 0 men who have gone from being cut to the full thing. The restorers have raved about the differences, but there are no where near as many of them as there could be regenerators.

          • JJim says:

Just to clarify, I am saying that, unlike those circumcised as infants, many men who were circumcised as adults MUST have had some kind of difficulty with their foreskin: medical, aesthetic, cultural, etc.

So, logically, the experience of a man circumcised as an adult will often be tainted by his displeasure or discomfort (for either subjective or objective reasons) with having a foreskin.

Here’s an analogy (not perfect) from my own life: I had many problems with my tonsils (infections, breathing difficulty, bad breath from tonsil “stones”) and had them removed in my early twenties. I am MIUCH happier without them.

The fact that so many men DO reach out after being circumcised as adults only adds further to my point. I think we need to temper our understanding of “positive reviews” of adult circumcisions.

  88. Nathan says:

Is it possible that Foregen could reach out to a celebrity/celebrities or possible philanthropist that would be willing to make a sizable donation and is tax deductible to hasten the fund raising process? Because if average Joe’s like you and me continue to donate at this pace, it could potential be a while before the final amount is raised to complete the clinical trial. I donate when I can but I am not rich by any means like all of us.

Regardless, thank you for giving me and other some kind of hope.

  89. Ellis says:

Glad there’s an expertise group out there that not blinded by the majority of a nations false norms and views and using their knowledge and resources to do something about it. This should not even be legal. It is a mutilation, alteration, and violation of one’s body without their personal consent.

  90. Greek says:

I’m not about sexual pleasure. Just need my foreskin back, if only that retarded fool did not have me circumcised. I’m taking about my mother. I was a child maybe 5 or 6 years of age, I remember binging tide down and binging not out by sleeping gas. I woke up in the middle of the surgery.

  91. Jordan says:

I am 19 and was circumcised at birth. I personally have troubles with skin tearing due to tension on the small amount of remaining inner foreskin left after circumcision during masturbation. I also have dryness and pain in my glans. Every single day. Please hurry Foregen, I would do anything to have my foreskin back as soon as possible.

  92. EK says:

I can’t believe I haven’t done this already, but tomorrow I am going to start posting flyers on my large Midwestern (USA) campus. Being busy and depressed and whatever else took its toll, but I basically just had a full-body shiver again thinking about someone cutting off not just any part of my body, but one of my most sensitive parts. Everyone who reads this, just print off a flyer. Just one! If you want to do more, that’s cool too. Just post it somewhere.

Here’s an example someone else made: http://www.scribd.com/doc/47381695/Foregen-Flyer-2-white-background

Imagine doing this is making it one year closer to you being restored and imagine that doing this is preventing some poor unsuspecting boy somewhere from going through horrifying mutilation.

Do this, and leave a comment on this thread that you have done so! Good luck!

  93. Josh says:

I have been putting up lots of flyers here in Canada.
I Just put up some more today and I’m going to keep doing so!

I want Foregen to be successful so bad, I think the more people that know about it
the sooner it will happen. Please if you want this to happen put up flyers and get the word out there!

  94. Brian says:

What foregen is doing is great and all and it’s a big step closer to being whole again, but in order to reach our full potential and be the person we were destined to be, there’s one thing missing. Unlike adult circumcision, infant circumcision damages the penis leaving it stunted and withered, never reaching it’s max potential. We also need some sort of reliable enlargement for the guys out there who will still be too small to do much with their new foreskins, or guys like me who are just pissed because of the principal of the matter, that we were stunted and could be bigger.

    • Anthony says:

Actually, foreskin has little to do with the actual overall size of the penis. IF anything, the foreskin makes the penis look A LITTLE bit thicker than a cut penis. The skin is like a turtle neck if you will. When an uncut penis is flaccid, the foreskin covers the head and just makes it look a little more thick because of the covering skin. But even then, the difference is rather minor. Now, if you are talking about an erect penis, well the foreskin doesn’t do much to that either. Like for example, let’s say a circumcised man (who was cut at birth) currently has a 6 inch penis when hard. It’s not like if he wasn’t cut at birth and still has his foreskin today, he’ll be around 7 or 8 inches. Heck, probably not even 7.5 inches. That’s not the case at all. If there is any loss of SIZE to the penis, it is MILLIMETERS of a difference. There are PLENTY of men out there with small, thin, uncut penises and PLENTY of men out there with huge, thick, circumcised penises. Saying that removing the foreskin at birth significantly reduces the length and girth of the penis is misguided.

      • Brian says:

There are actually studies to validate what I’m saying, few and far between though because the pro mutilation lobby doesn’t want people finding out. Without the extra skin to grow into, growth and erections are suppressed and the remaining skin has to be stretched tight to accommodate. also, the majority of the DHT receptors in the penis are in the foreskin, which some hypothesize is also part of the cause. it really boils down to how badly the penis was damaged. think about it, in a normal penis the skin unfolds off of the head in order to accommodate, but in a cut one the remaining skin has to stretch the best it can. a lot of cut men have tight painful erections, this restricted growth during puberty the way it restricts their erections today.

      • Tae says:

What Brian just said. Plus, you have to take into account that penis size is largely dependent on genes, so a mutilated penis can end up much longer than a regular one the same way that a pygmy or Filipino female can end up taller than a white male. It’s been documented time after time again that the average size of a cut penis is noticeably shorter than that of a natural one, even though many men are cut during or after puberty and, as he pointed out before, many pro-mutilation lobbyists try to draw attention away from the shorter length of the damaged penis.

    • Unknown says:

Incredible non-issue to worry about when size has nothing to do with happiness/pleasure at all (unless you’re incredibly shallow, or it’s your fetish).

Regardless, when you have your foreskin and frenulum back, you’ll have everything back. All you need is to clear up the keratin on the head that’s making it dry (pineapple extract, tropical cream, etc will all do that). Other than that, no need to worry about having lost anything that couldn’t be gained back through stemcell (which is like your body reliving life’s growth process anyway).

With that being said, you would gain back any temporary growth loss with a foreskin… as well as not being lazy, and doing penis exercises.

  95. Andrew K. says:

    Greek,

Last time I knew, Foregen needs $200,000 US dollars to fund its clinical trial whether it’s feasible to regenerate the male foreskin in vivo. They have to raise that amount before any of this will become a reality. All we can do is continue to contribute with what available money we have to this worthy cause and be patient.

  96. Guy J says:

C’mon Foregen, let us know whats happening here.

  97. EK says:

Way to go Josh, and anyone else who has put up flyers! I have started doing so, too, but not as much as I could or should. C’mon everyone, giving money is important, but finding a way to spread the word is just as important. If 100 million people know about something rather than 100 people, progress is more likely to happen, right? More funding, more scientific contributors, and more press is what we need. We MUST either may this cause work or at least give it our absolute best shots. Even if only for our descendants, we MUST make this work. If I would have known or thought about my conditions years ago, I would have had a different major and perhaps been at Wake Forest or somewhere directly helping. But, life worked out the way it did, so I’m going to at least try to make this work indirectly.

By the way, and perhaps I need to read further, but do we have any predictions on how long it will take until we can actually have the procedure done? I would say that if it will be any longer than a predicted 2 or 3 years, I might just start tugging and deal with the real restoration option when the time comes.

Anyhow, I just HAVE to be whole again. Even if someone chopped off just one toe without my consent, I would be passionate about it. But, to mutilate that particular part… wow…

  98. Anon says:

    Still no update…

  99. Ray says:

Although that Foregen works on a confidential basis and many details can’t be revealed, I think that a new update it’s necessary now more than ever. I totally rely on the work of Foregen, but unfortunately there are still many people who remain skeptical or even think that it’s a scam. A new update about Foregen’s progresses would boost the pace of fundraising and would convince many potential donors who will change their skeptical or suspicious attitude.

  100. Zac says:

I keep checking back here all the time I desperately hope Foregen is working on something I
want to intact more than anything!

  101. E K says:

If you are anxiously and regularly checking back here for details (like myself), it probably means Foregen’s mission is important to you too. Why not use some of your energy and passion to donate to Foregen and hang up flyers. Here’s an example someone else made of a flyer: http://www.scribd.com/doc/47381695/Foregen-Flyer-2-white-background.

I have donated and hung flyers, so I feel I’m doing my part. Post back here if you have done the same. Each and every one of us need to keep in mind how important these 2 things are. It is everyone’s job… even yours!

Thanks for your help! Let’s keep this alive!

  102. Anon says:

So I’ve been restored for a few years now.

For everyone else’s sake, I decided to get circumcised again. Even if you restore, you still have your original scar line. If the circumcision is done correctly, you won’t end up with two scars. What I’m trying to tell everyone is that if you want to restore while you wait for Foregen, go ahead. All you need to do is get another circumcision when Foregen is ready.

I’m going to restore (again), obviously, but I just figured I’d do this to reassure everyone.

  103. Clayton says:

So do I. I check the site everyday

  104. Moot says:

I check back here every day. It’s not that I doubt Foregen, it’s just that a new update would be nice.

Also, quite a few people have asked this before, but is it possible that we could get an estimated price range?

  105. Andrey says:

from down here in MADAGASCAR…I WISH FOREGEN WILL SUCCEED AS circumcicion is unnecessary and one by easy to influence and ignorant parents and stupid doctors!! Thse who circumcise….MAY GOD HELP YOU!!!!!!!!YOU and your filthy soul, whether you are from madagascar or elsewhere!!!!
For me, I would be up for a lcinical trial and also for donating

  106. Andrey says:

by the way…FOREGEN really needs publicity and we also would need to make people aware of the side effects of circumcision (I will start that in MADAGASCAR already). May be, lets start by the forums by posting articles whilst making people aware of foregen!! I think that we all need to move and start acting instead of letting crual doctors and parents continue with their circ task.
